First up - Hein Gericke Motorcycle Jacket

Second Up - Sidi Vertebra (quite used - won by mistake for £30)

Boots look pretty worn - wish I hadn't have bought them, but clicked a bid in to see how much they would go for and won them. Neutral

Meh, i'd be happy with those boots for summer use. They look sturdy and intact still, just a bit scuffed n' mucked. New boots rarely look new for long anyway in some way or another.

Got most of mine in a similar state off ebay in the past, saved 100s all up vs buying them new and shined.

That inspired confidence. Thanks Karma

Bargain.

I'd have some t-cut onto the plastics of boots. Then a good coat of furniture polish over the boots , rubbed in with an old toothbrush
They will clean up a treat.

And stop squeaking when u walk😉

Not that I've done this before 😎😎

A lot of my stuff has been bought second hand off eBay, I've had no problems whatsoever with any of it. A £700 set of lightly used Alpinestars leathers for £160, and I paid £60 for a pair of lightly used Sidi boots. I know others on here have had some major deals.

You've got no worries, those boots should clean up nicely, a bargain for £30.00. Even if you just use them as spares.

Helpful, thanks. I can't justify spending silly money on bike gear. Got boots, jacket and gloves for £70.00

So long as its intact and fits I don't see the point buying new. It might smell fragrant for a while, but if its anything like the few new things i've bought it won't for long Laughing

I crashed in a more fancy pair of those boots and smashed up my tib and fib. Still run a bit, ahem, "cerebral palsy" like (at least if you video my feet.)

However, that was going down from a significant height and I'd had many crashes in the same boots (and another similar pair), many at high speed and always been fine up until then Smile.

I got that same model of sidi boot off ebay several years ago, was probably as grubby looking as yours, but still going strong now.

They clean up really well. I used a flash kitchen wipe on the heel cup, unscrew the armour plates and stick them in soapy water, then a good leather cleaner, and polish on the body of the boot, and while not looking like new, look a heck of a lot better than they did. Thumbs Up

Bubbs.

These came with a bike I bought from a mate of mine, was going to bin them, they looked a hell of lot worse than yours.

Your boots are in a lot better nick than these are though.

Unscrew toe-sliders, warm water and nail brush and scrub clean, some old leather cleaner\conditioner I had lying around rubbed into them after they had dried, after that I sprayed with the remains of a can of aldi or lidl water-proofer.

Like yours, the heels were scuffed gold, mine had raised Frank Thomas logos stuck on top of the gold heels, looked like shit, craft knife to hack off logos, remains of black gloss rattlle can on heels.

Plenty of black polish, oh and araldite a loose sole at toe-cap, seems like it was a lot of bother for an old pair of boots, but after the initial scrub I spent very little time just doing the rest whenever I was in between doing something else.

Should be good for a couple of years, I will only wear them for shitty conditions so as not abuse my 'good' boots.

Probably going to wear them this Saturday, first day out on the bike this year.

Would say your Sidi's are well worth a little effort and much better than these old FT's.

Well they have both arrived. Hein Gericke jacket is labelled as Large but id say is more a Medium and because of this it doesn't fit right... Rolling Eyes Damn it.

So if anyone is looking for a cheap jacket size medium then you can have it £35.00 delivered as this is how much I paid. If not it can be a spare jacket for someone who wants to go for a spin.

Boots fit really well. Little worn and banged about but still sturdy.

Going to get cleaning tonight to see how nice I can get them.

Thumbs Up
