My son has Just bought a Kawasaki exact model is ER6n B8F 2008 model with ABS.
Im running around like a headless chicken looking for a 35Kw 46bhp Restrictor, he is coming up to doing Mod 1 and 2 for his A2 Licence, I was once a Qualified Instructor and When I passed my test I did the part 1 and part 2 and then was allowed at 17 to go straight onto a bike powered by two Rolls Royce Olympus engines if I so choose lol, Now they have to keep jumping throught hoops to get on a restricted bike for 2 years, then jump through the same hoops again to move to unrestricted.

I cant find a restrictor anywhere, and I getting worried that he will lose a lot of his his hard earned money.
Can anyone please help me find a restrictor and certificate so the secondhand bike dealer can fit it, part of the deal was I supplied the restrictor and he would fit it for him. talk about trying to find a needle in a haystack.
Thank god I wont have to go through this when I buy my bike. My yongest son does his CBT on Saturday so he will be on the road, God help me, Im already 2 steps away from the Men in the white coats lol

The dealer should be able to supply both the kit and the cert for you.

Now and they they do come up on Ebay but at the moment there is nothing there I could find.

At £180, I'd take it to your local dealer and have it fitted there if it's a similar price. I know my local Suzuki dealer charges £200 for both restrictor and fitting regardless of if it's carb or a throttle restrictor, I can't imagine Kawasaki dealers would charge much more.

Edit: It may also be worth contacting kickstart engineering, as they sell most of the 47bhp restrictors on eBay for a reasonable price (in comparison to other places). https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/kickstart_engineering/m.html

Kickstart only does carb washers as far as I can tell.

What DSA Derek (and an insurer) wants to see is a convincing looking piece of paper saying "Fitted 35kW restrictor to vehicle ER6 FOO for monies". You have access a printer, right?

You could in addition have a look at the throttle body to see if there's a handy looking screw hole in it that would stop the throttle opening fully. Most likely that'll limit it to 25kW. Blue screws work best, I understand.

Kickstart dont do a restrictor kit for er6n, trying to sort it, but it looks like phoning the local Kawasaki dealer to see what they charge and bite the bullet. hay ho. was worth a try. Thanks.to all for your help

Look for an er6f restrictor? It's the same bike, just the 'n' has less plastic on it.
When I bought mine the dealer fit it for free.
