Hi,
I'm trying to find an outdoor cctv camera that will wirelessly connect through my router to my PC / MAC so i can record the footage directly to my HD drive. I'd also like to be able to review it remotely.

I've tried most websites but can't find anything that really fits the bill.

Does any one have any ideas?

The software is the crucial part, I'm using BlueIris to do this with a £50 IP cam from ebay.
It's surprisingly good at detecting movement and emailing a pic or clip of that, and records continuously to a Netbook running 24/7

You can view the stream on a phone or computer anywhere, reviewing footage recorded on the computer remotely is a bit harder, I wonder if you might record to skydrive or something.
If you can view folders on your PC remotely already it should be possible. I haven't tried to do that but can receive the emailed stills obviously.

This is something that I've thought about doing over the last year or so, but like the OP I haven't been able to find anything that I like the look of, mainly because everything I've looked at I either don't understand or it's subscription based and expensive.

Doggone, is there a how to for idiots anywhere on the web that you could point me to? Or even better, give some detail of how you've set yours up?

I haven't looked into the software you mentioned yet, will do that at the weekend. Thumbs Up

I use and old version of Webcam XP.
Can send notifications, stills and video clips etc.
You can set it up to stream directly from a pc.
