Galaxy S3 or iPhone 4S ???

I've decided to stop being such a tight arse and sort myself out with a decent phone, fed up of this little Tesco £15 one

I've narrowed it down to the above two phones, I will be purchasing unlocked and then running a giffgaff SIM.

The S3 is marginally cheaper but does anyone have any real life experience with it?

The 4S seems like a safe bet for me as I've used a load of iPhones previously and like how they work but I've heard some amazing things about the S series from Samsung aswell.

Anyone got any insight on this?

The S3 is old hat and I don't like the build quality or the Samsung interpretation of Android. That being said, it will be superior to a very archaic iPhone that struggles to run ios7.

i have the 4S at the minute, my girlfriend just changed her S3 today for the Iphone 5C.

i hated her phone. constantly breaking,failing to send texts or receive them.

my 4S has been faultless, except for the fact i jailbroke it and it's causing me problems (my fault!), had it 2 years and replacing it on monday,but yeah happy results with the iphone!

How much are you paying for either of them phones? I would suggest a Moto G for around £120 or if you want more powwwah a Nexus 5 which is what I have and I reckon it's mint

The Moto G is more powerful and costs much, much less than an S4 mini It's the one I'd go for on a budget, can't stand Samsung's skins either.

The 4s is £299 and the S3 is around £280.

That Moto G looks tempting, especially at that price ....decisions.

I have an S3, got it on release. Still fine and have no intention of signing up on another contract next month when mine expires, I'll just switch to GiffGaff and carry on with it.

Having said that, it was flashed nigh on first boot so I have little experience with the stock ROM but the hardware is plenty capable

I had a galaxy s3 and now an S4 which I have had a while. My old S3 is going strong as I sold it to a friend of mine who is still using it.

My S4 has some niggling problems like getting its self out of signal and me having to toggle in out of aeroplane mode to get it back.

Having said that both my s3 and s4 knob all over my old iPhone 4s.

Go for the nexus range of phones, great bits of kit for little money.

(I know I have owned a lot of phones but I get 20% off my contracts through work and always sell my old phone and take 12 month deals - it works out very cheap overall)

I have a HTC one good phone! Much much faster than iPhone 4 like loads faster! Friend of mine bought the moto G and omg it's close to my HTC performance wise...cam ain't the best but neither is mine ( iphone 4 wins here) value for money the for money the moto G wins hands down so that's £200 towards your next handset when you do upgrade in a year or 2 ......disable tripple touch zoom in kitkat if you play games on it......which it plays well ........ My Mrs has an s3 which does everything well so can't knock them either apart from not having updates to newer android o/s but tbh kitkat is not really very different apart from no longer having flash player support.... something Apple users have never had either

i've got the moto g. its a great phone, for the average user you will probably not need anything more. got mine for £100 new on vodafone payg and put my simfree contract sim in.

2 years ago i was paying £35 a month for something worse.

Very glad I posted this here now, saved myself £100 or so...

I decided to go with the MOTO G and it turned up earlier, so much phone for the money, the only downside is the camera isn't amazing but more than adequate really happy with it.

Can any suggest any good bike related/cool apps?
