Someone made a thread about this helmet cam a while ago:

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/230965626687?ssPageName=STRK:MESINDXX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1436.l2649

Just wanted to know if they ended up buying it and could they possibly review it if they did.

Many thanks Thumbs Up

I've not brought that one. But got one more or less the same. See if I can get some video's up for you. What can I say. I've brought a few of them to fit in more than one place. Dead easy to use. and never found a problem with them. The card to me is the best system. In the way of slot it in to the camera, then do the same on the computer, to down load the film. Go get one.

I bought a GoPro HD Hero 3 yesterday. Filmed my blast over to Whitby, caught some awesome scenery / footage, the quality is amazing. The cameras are expensive, however. The suction cup is good! Stayed on my head even at 120 (kph of course). Didn't want to risk it past that.

How much are Hero 2s now? Quality is still great. I bought mine when it was on offer, tempted by a 3+ black edition, but don't really need it.

Just for my own personal amusement really!

Mine was £300 with a bundle of attachments.

I want one in case I get squished. I find myself having more near misses than not recently.

Don't wan't to spend loads and quality doesn't need to be GoPro level.

Try one of these. Look through his other camera reviews for a camera at your price point.

The Drift Ghost S ticks all the boxes for me. I've had the GoPro Hero 3 Black before that.

The reasons I changed it are:

- Drift fits nicer on the helmet (it's long and slim, not a little brick like the GoPro)
- Quality is about the same (although max FPS is only 60 at 1080)
- Thanks to the rotatable lens, you can mount this on the side or on the top.
- It's rain-proof without a housing
- Battery life is far superior to the GoPro
- Modes like DVR are handy - which records on a loop and starts again when your card is full, good if you're just recording for insurance/safety reasons
- Easy mic input for vlogs (if that's your thing)
- Built in screen as standard
- Easier menu than the GoPro
- Remote blinks with LED to show you're recording.

There's an element of personal preference with these things, like an iPhone vs Android or Garmin vs TomTom type thing - people stick to what they know and get on with.. but having owned both, the Drift gets the edge for me. Of course it depends what you're using it for and what features you'll use. If you want to film at 4K and need lots of slo-mo stuff, then the GoPro Hero 3 Black should be better for you. If you want a camera that sits well on a helmet for good quality day-to-day riding vids, then go for the Drift.

90% of vloggers on YouTube will use one of these two, though. For me, that rules out the rest.

Well a camera is no use if you are dead.....

Far better to get your riding assessed and make sure you are not putting yourself in dangerous situations. Thumbs Up
