The Meta Alarm M500 I have fitted to my Firestorm has occasionally made this weird noise ever since I bought the bike a few years ago, but yesterday I gave the bike a good wash and since then it's been constant and much worse.
It's audible with the seat on from about 6ft away. It does it both when armed and unarmed although it only used to do it (occasionally) when armed.

Has anyone heard anything like this before, and more importantly, is it going to set on fire? Laughing

The video is shit but the audio is fairly clear.

Yes. Disconnect it and burn it immediately. It must be cleansed with fire, lest the enraged hissing spirits held therein migrate to something more sensitive, such as your bowels.

Thus sayeth the Lord, it is even in the Commandments given to Moses on the mount. Thou shalt cast out with fire and sword that servant of Satan that nests within the bosom of your chariot, (or something like that, never was much good with ancient Hebrew).

Seems like there's some sort of power leakage to the speaker. Sounds like a short but I'm pretty sure it's not else it would blow the fuse.

How old is the alarm?
When they get to about 10 years old, the internal battery starts to give up the ghost and they begin to play silly beggers. On mine (not quite same model) the sounder went really quiet, for the blips as you enable/disable it or if you triggered it. Nowt much you can do other that swap the control unit. Fairly straight forward job TBH.

Dunno, if yours has same problem, maybe worth considering a replacement, as eventually if the internal battery dies completely, you'll find yourself immobilised and stranded somewhere. Sad

Either way, have a gander on my blog, I wrote up a post a while back on swapping the alarm unit over.
