Looking around all over for a full respray on my Suzuki tl1000r. Asked quite a few places and half have quoted around 1400 pound and the other half haven't emailed back yet.

I was hoping more for around the 900 quid mark as the oem panels are in decent nick just the paint/sticker work on the TLR is looking shabby now and i'd love it to be re done and look new for the summer! I am also offering each paint shop the panels loose and both wheels without bearings or tyres on to try and keep costs low.

I am just wanting the bike to have a fresh coat of paint not a crazy scheme just the normal blue/white oem colours will do fine for me, so if you guys know anyone, let me know! Smile Looking to get the work done straight after bank hol in april, can pay deposits etc now to secure timeslots etc. Very Happy

That's amazingly cheap! Are they actually any good or will i be looking at it all coming to pieces in a couple of years? Its the 1998 model of tl im wanting resprayed so to be honest its probably the easiest of the blue white models.... most of line are straight haha Laughing i'll give them a google, see what i can find, tbh, kent or not, i'd travel if they could do the lot to a decent standard!

That is them, they did my TL1000S quite well.

I would not expect factory finish, nor would I expect OEM design.

Well Paddy thats what i was thinking, plus the TLR is obviously fully faired as opposed to the tl-s and bandit being only partially. I'm sure i could get a decent job done for around 800-900 quid right? if i dropped the loose parts off, right? :/

Looks canny that mind, then again as mentioned there is a lot less fairing to paint on the bandit Razz I'm going to ring someone tonight regarding a price and see if speaking to people might be able to afford me a chance at haggling a price down and set something in stone!

Wish me luck! Thumbs Up

I'd reckon panels and wheels alone (i'd powder coat the wheels...) would be £600-800 depending on who you go for.

Gonna ring a guy in 5 mins who runs a pro shop near where i am so i'll let you know how i get on try and keep it at about the £900 mark!

Yeah Paddy, I was planning on powdercoated wheels, best finish as i've had some done before with that technique, hopefully reviving this legend of a bike for the summer will be worth it, i'll post some pics of it when it finally gets done haha! Rolling Eyes

I got a quote from dream machine to respray an NC30 in the classic red white and blue scheme. £1000 (excluding wheels).

The wheels I would suggest powder coat if possible, its a lot more durable than paint, especially when you add in the fact of tyre machines/levers/heavy handed fitters. I did respray a gsx550 for a customer and he had his wheels done, however he left the rims polished so no risk of chips to the rim.

The respray cost would also depend on any decals needing/being removed. Straight lines are easy to do when doing 2 tone jobs. But then it depends if your bothered about feeling the edges of the paint. If your not fussed you can use 2k paint, or the alternativè if you prefer not to feel the lips in the paint I would go with basecoat, followed by any decals then a good covering with clearcoat.

Just my thoughts/ how I would do it.

Jim
