Hi - just seen some Stanley Tech 3 sets on Facebook - anyone know if these are any good?

They look nice and shiny for your regular user (me Smile ) but wouldn't like to fork out for a set if they r woeful...

Search stanley tech 3 tools in google and a few stores have 'em or this place
https://www.twwholesale.co.uk/browse.php/section/10265/level/4

Please let me know.

Cheers

They don't seem like better value than the Halfords Advanced Professional range, which come with a lifetime guarantee.

Only if you keep the receipt and can produce it when/if required if anything breaks.

Been caught out by that. Maybe I just had a jobsworth employee.

I have a couple of older Stanley socket sets, which are really good, made in UK, but I don't know about the Tech 3 Confused

The receipt fades to nothing over time. Mine is now blank. They had better accept it! Ummed and arred a little last time over a Torx bit replacement when they saw the faded receipt but you could just about make it out then, you can't now.

I took a 3/8" power bar into my local branch after the pin snapped and they replaced it without a receipt.

Stanley used to be pretty decent, kind of a name you could trust for quality, but unfortunately that was decades ago.
I bought some Stanley screwdrivers about five years ago, black and yellow. They're relatively cheap quality, but then they were cheap to buy.
I've also got some stanley fatmax screwdrivers in a tool roll in my Jeep, and they are better quality.
Best bet would be to check the restocking and postage fees if you change your mind once you get your mitts on a set.

Alternatives such as Draper Expert, Halfords pro and good old Clarke Pro all have lifetime warranties.

Hmm, I love buying tools. Smile

I suspect that's by design... Also don't laminate the receipt, I tried that once and it turned black with the heat Rolling Eyes

So what, they are claiming that you bought your Halfords branded tools somewhere else?

A fitter at work has a set and they look smart, looks can be deceptive though! How much are they? I've got nothing but praise for Britool Hallmark stuff.

Right then. Time to put the photocopier to use I think.
