Hey,

Have my cbt on Friday so been thinking about what bike I'l pick up, was all set to buy a Lexmoto Arrow or Vixen, but have been keeping an open mind and seen this tonight :

https://www.gumtree.com/p/cars-vans-motorbikes/suzuki-en-125-18000-miles-800-ono-will-accept-offers-read-description/1053051966

Been texting this guy tonight, he says he can hold this until the end of the month for me, I'd get him to MOT it in that time ofc.

Is £800 a reasonable price for the age?? Really unsure about buying second hand as I know shit about bikes, but this looks like its been in the family for a while and its clean at least lol

It is the reliable jap route, but its almost older than the missus!

Bike runs well but can sometimes struggle to pick up due to a unknown fault but isnt a massive problem.

That would put me off if I knew nothing about bikes

Were en125's around in the 90's?
When we bought ours it was 2 years old had about 3000 miles on the clock, nothing wrong apart from a VERY dry chain, and paid £600 for it. I know this was 4 and a half years ago, but!

£800 for a bike that doesn't work properly, no thanks!

Good points!

Jesus I need to calm down and pick a bike sensibly! Literally just looked at the price and the picture lol

Just seems that if you want to pick up a 2nd hand Jap bike you need to be quick and sure, and that isnt great for somebody like me, hugely increases the chances of buying a lemon!

Isn't the EN125 a grey import? If is insurance may be a pain and you might want to check parts availability.

As already said "unknown fault" is a worry. If the bikes that loved/cared for it wouldn't be unknown it would be rectified and the thing would have an MOT.

Also 800 quid for it?????????????? Laughing

Yeah I think this was a bad shout lol

Like I said, will probably go ahead with getting an Arrow brand new instead, but seen this on ebay too

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/261424202557

Looks well looked after and maintained, he/she's changed the gearing and done servicing themselves so obv cares a bit about the bike..

Could be a bid going in for this, save me the depreciation and a few hundred quid! Although it would mean a nice 125mile ride home from Bristol to Northants....on an unknown 125, down mostly A roads, about 1 week after my CBT...sounds like an adventure!

EDIT: Just put a bid in! Shocked

Also when you see this in an ebay auction

sensible offers considered

Message them your offer first rather than bid. They may say yes then and there.

He's knocked back a few bids, have chucked one in for 450... seems like he's done a lot to it, and that cracked panel will cost nothing to replace on CMPO i'm guessing..

Can't believe I have 2 offers in for bikes lol

Really hope he accepts that offer as that would be handy as fuck to pick up!

22 quid probably find one for half that or less on Ebay off a bike being broken.
