Hi all, one quick question about your Cbt, does the instructor ride infront of you or behind you whilst on the road??

Many Thanks

Pandy

^^He should be behind you, but because my bike was quicker than the instructers i followed him until he went and got another bike.

Either. They may get you to follow them to demonstrate a point (eg road positioning as you approach a junction) but they usually follow you to watch what you are doing.

Remember your warm clothes, you will probably be doing some standing about in a cold carpark and if it is windy as today was, you could freeze your arse off.

Best of luck, enjoy yourself Thumbs Up

On my cbt test there were myself , the cbt instructor guy and this other lad. So I went first , followed by the instructor , followed by the other chap and vice versa except the instructor always stays in the middle or behind you. If you get what I mean.

On my CBT we each took it in turns leading as there was about 3 or 4 of us taking the CBT.

However i did not get to lead as my radio sound quality was crap and i could not understand a word the instructor was saying.

Why do people get worked up about the CBT? Unless you are learning gears it is too darn easy to get worried about.

It aint even a test FFS.

Agreed SS, it really is nothing basically, IMO if you can ride a bike and have half a brain you'll "pass".

I can see people who are new to biking getting worried though, it is quite daunting to have someone watching you I spose, but just stay calm and say to yourself "I know what I'm doing" and you'll be fine.

Therefore, you will pass, that is the hardest bit (even on your proper test) IMO.

if you are learning how to ride a geared bike for the first time then its slightly more harder. but its not that hard after 2 hours of throttle and clutch pratice as the stallling should stop. the only other thing is thinking about the highway code. if you havent had experience as a car driver or been on the road then things like giving way at round abouts and junctions may be a problem.

if theres two of you then you lead, he is in the middle and the other guy follows him. then vice versa
