To a pair of boots! Finally got all my kit together now Smile

To be honest I never had much choice over which boot I was getting - these are the only ones which I could do up! They feel really comfortable on and with the adjustable straps and buckles I am able to get a secure fit.

Patented "ankle brace" with additional shock absorbing insert in the ankle area. TOE AND LATERAL . Additional injected PU s in the toe-box and on the outside ball of the foot. INSIDE LEG . Thick and wide Suede leather provides guard against heat and increased grip. INSTEP FLEX AREA. Wide thermalweld bellow for increased comfort and flexibility. UPPER. Leather PU skin. SOLE. Alpinestars new and exclusive contoured rubber compound is glued and stitched, and features replaceable wide footpeg inserts and a contoured stamped steel shank. CLOSURE. 2 buckles with memory and a quick release/locking system and 1 calf buckle with memory featuring a quick release click-in system. Buckles are injected with high impact resistant technopolymer. LINING. Cambrelle lining laminated with open cell foam. High-density contoured padding provides shock absorption for the heel and ankle area. FOOTBED. Removable anatomic footbed. GATTOR. Extended gattor for better water protection.

I couldn't find a single street/race boot that would fit me! I play rugby and am roughly square shaped and have really built legs (I play flanker...) so motocross boots it is!

I'm sure you can break an ankle just fine at 30 if you try hard enough, and those look pretty damned sturdy. Cool stuff.

Yeah ive been using the CB to get about on - done 1000 miles since christmas! Went and visited a mate in England using only A and B roads... That was fun!

Only going to have the CB until march and my ex girlfriend is getting it - will be on to the gixxer by then Razz

It was Hein Gericke - a bargain at £190

As far as I'm concerned, you can't overdo what boots or whatever you're riding. I wear leathers and Sidi vert 2s all the time on my wee NSR!

I tried the ordinary Vertigos and the Vertigo Corsas and had varying problems with them:

First off neither are waterproof, read a couple of reviews of the Corsas that say they are purely summer boots and not to be worn in the cold due to some "air scoop" nonsense!

On both boots my feet were too broad for them more so in the plain Verts than the Corsas. The adjustable upper helped a bit but mamma didnt raise no skinny! Calfs still wouldnt fit!

Cheers for the recommendation though - might need to do a few ks on the treadmill as opposed to my usual 300kg (660lb) legs presses in the weights room Razz

I wanted some sidi courrier boots because they looked easy to live with, tryed them on in the shop and blimeh, what a pain in the ass! nice and secure but too way to long to get them on...

I ended up geting some sidi vertibre boots, absoloutely brilliant, waterproof (for moderate rides anyway) and take seconds to get on, foot in, zip up, velcro, sorted... over the top? probably a bit odd looking on a cx... but it dosent matter if your rideing a rabid goat at 40mph it will hurt just as much as on a sprots bike.

Not what was expected, depends entirely on what boots you get, i also have hein gericke engineer boots (ride to work in them and wear them all day) and they dont need any straping or velcroing at all...

Those alpine stars do look great, would go well with my bike methinks... only 3 points to click yourself in, are they easy to live with?

Yeah they are great - the majority of the boots in the shop required help to get them on and do up, took ages to do up inner laces etc. These I stick my foot in, tuck leather in, click, click, click - done.

Yeah its doing a damn good job, although i only just got the boots so ive not got a lot of miles on them - I done the best part of 900 miles with my Navy issue parade shoes (they have reinforced uppers for shifting) - they are now a little worse for wear!
