Nothing, unless you want your new MOT to run for more than twelve months - in which case you'll need your old certificate.

So, if your MOT runs out on 19th April, and you took it in today, your new MOT will run out 19th April next year - but only if you take your old certificate with you.

-edit- actually, I don't think you even need to do that any more as it's all on a database... So nothing!

I was told to take my log book, I forgot to take it but they still went ahead and did the MOT anyway.

You definitely don't need that - I've never taken mine, ever.

You don't need the old MOT now either, if there is still time on it but less than a month to run on it they still forward date it.

Yup, there was a period where they wanted to see the V5C for a first MOT, and the previous MOT if you wanted it dated to then, but it's all computronical now.

Booked it in for pads? Shame on you sir! I never got my hands near anything dirty before getting the zzr since then ive been knee deep in it learning "what does this lever do". Pads are super easy to change.

Which is exactly why I prefer to do mine myself.

Can appreciate the 'dont fiddle with brakes - they're dangerous!' conversation Rolling Eyes

Honestly though brake pads are one of the easiest things to do in my fairly limited mechanical knowledge. I'd rather change pads than do an oil change personally - less muck n' spill to deal with.

And its a great feeling heading out on new pads knowing you've fitted them, cleaned the callipers up and tested them yourself.
