You'll get mugged and then left bleeding in the gutter.
What's the issue with buying one? ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.

Slightly off-topic but do any bike makers/dealers to the personal leasing plan idea that you can get for cars now?
You know the deal, pay a biggish deposit then monthly amount based on how many miles you think you'll do. Then after 3 years pay a balance and keep or trade in and start again. Servicing is usually included although consumables such as tyres may or not be (depends on deal or lease plan). Peugeot do the 'just add fuel' lease deal for cars.
I haven't heard of any so putting this out there for any feedback. I guess the problem is in persuading people to keep a bike for 3 years if thinking the same as for the cars. ____________________ ...and the whirlwind is in the thorn trees, it's hard for thee to kick against the pricks...

its essentially just balloon finance isnt it ? basically anywhere that offers finance can offer that, they just dont necessarily advertise it for bikes. but they make more money out of it so id be shocked if
they said no to someone wanting it |
it's called a Personal Contract Purchase (PCP), it's useful for people who change every 3/4 years, not so useful for those who change every 5 years and not so useful for those who occasionally change before their contract ends as it leaves a lot of negative equity in most instances. good way to keep monthly payments down, though.
i dunno about the bike industry but i know in the motor trade you need a pretty good credit rating for a PCP deal, blackhorse can be quite strict with it ____________________ Current: Kawasaki ZL600 Eliminator

i know hes on about PCP, i was just saying isnt it essentially just balloon finance though ?
as that is a deposit, low monthly installments for 2-4 years ( or whatever you set up) then a large one off payment to own the vehicle at the end. or you trade in the vehicle at the end of the period and get something else and therefore dont pay the balloon payment |
nah you're spot on mate, sorry, i didn't mean to sound as though i was correcting you, just thought i'd mention to folk the name of it incase they were to spot it on a bike or that ____________________ Current: Kawasaki ZL600 Eliminator

nope, it's exactly that. also, the other option is that at the end of the term you can hand the bike back to the finance company and walk away from the deal altogether ____________________ Current: Kawasaki ZL600 Eliminator
