I've recently bought this bike, it's had a iffy kick start (It was stiff and then had problems with it jamming/slipping etc) But i got a yasuni performance exhaust from a friend and i got it last night and went out on it for a few hours without jetting it. Got in and the kickstart jammed again, so i left it over night in the garden. Woke up this morning and me and my dad went out to fix it, got it started again and then moved on to fixing the boot opening which we fixed and tried to fix the tail light because only the break light worked, changed the bulb and then put everything back together and tried starting the bike. It wouldn't start, it sounds like it should start but it just doesn't kick in and start properly. It's making the correct noises as it would just before it starts but doesn't start. After a few kicks it start to smell of petrol, after half hour of trying to start it i've realised my immobiliser light has stopped flashing and no matter what i do it won't come back on... The bike won't start. (Yesterday)

How can i fix this? Need this fixed asap it's my only transport!

THERE IS NO SPARK. (Just found out today)

Thanks in advance!
- Shaun

get that yasuni exhaust back off of it and put it back to the way it was when it ran until you fully learn how to tune a 2s engine properly!. its wayyyyyyy more than a case of sticking on a different pipe.

It won't run at all, my friends know a bit about tuning and things like that but they've never dealt with an immobiliser. I'm not saying the exhaust is the problem, because it was fine earlier with the exhaust, i'm saying that it must be the immobiliser because the lights not flashing anymore, i'm asking for a fix to get it running not a clever comment.

Buy a new bike.

The immobiliser on those scooters is a nightmare.

It can be;

The key.
The ring that goes around the ignition barrel.
The immobiliser/CDI itself.
Dodgy wiring.

FFS

kickstarts on scooters (especially peugeots) are there for emergency use, when the electric start isn't working get it fixed

If you continually use the kickstart it will fail / wear out, it's not designed for everyday use.

does it have a spark?

I only got the bike 6 days ago and i was told the electric start is broke, it all sounds right but i think i need a new starter motor.
One thing i am sure of is that there is no immobiliser light at all!
Isn't that bad if there's no red blinking light anymore?

it costs nothing to test for a spark, however the immobiliser and the cdi are part of the same unit on your bike and will break your piggy bank

remove the plug, put the cap back on it and hold the hex part against a metal part of the engine such as the head, barrel or exhaust so you can see the end of the plug, then turn the engine over and look for a blue spark between the centre and L shaped end of the spark plug

As said. The immobiliser has most likely died a death.

You need to check which Immobiliser you have.

It will have a number printed on it.

speedfight 2, will be an ACI100 cdi

they're a bit suspect on HT coils, same unit on a honda vision, you need to check for power on the wires to the coil

Where about is the Cdi? Is it near the ignition? Remember this is a liquid cooled 50cc and is a 2000 model.

Topic Resolved.

It's all up and running now, i fitted the new CDI Unit which bypasses the immobiliser. So it was either a fried CDI Unit or it was the Immobiliser itself. Either way, it's up and running now!

Thanks for all your help everyone.
