Bassets pole at McDonalds on a sunny tuesday, loads of bikers there, the car park is literarily ram packed full of bikes on a good day and there's a nice country lane right by the McDonalds. Click here. (If you google images McDonalds Bassetts Pole Meet you'll get an idea of how busy it gets)
Stratford upon avon via the henley road, although on a 125 it may not be that fun as they're long fast bends. Click here.
The Food Stop cafe in Bridgnorth is a very nice ride through Kidderminster, the road it's on is also a very nice bendy road. Click here. |

I've been trying to work out what you were talking about 'Henley road', when mentioned on mids section. So glad you've put that google link up. Stratford's my home town and Henley where I went to school, and I couldn't place the 'Henley Road'! Thats the BIRMINGHAM ROAD out of Stratford, and the REDITCH road out of Henley! 
If you want to try something a bit more technical and demanding; try the Wharf - Waterman run. B4439 'Old Warwick Road' from Hockley-Heath to Hatton.
It's about twelve miles of quite challenging twists and turns, compound curves and combinations, with barely anything remotely straight between them. Its a real 'riders' road, and leveller of machinery; there's almost no-where to lay down big power, you cant squid it twixt corners, as its all corners and no twixt! Then compound curves, adverse cambers, and restricted sight lines conspire, to demand technique over handling.
Bit far out from Dudley, though.

Get Lost!... well that's my advice! Been a long while since I've been out that way, but Kidderminster-Bewdley used be be a very nice run, and many nicer roads in and around; but on a 125? Just go explore. That's what I did when I was on L's.
Follow your nose; take to the back roads, see where they go, 'Get lost', have an adventure. You'll find your way home eventually, and who knows what you'll discover along the way.
Its all miles under your wheels, and that's how you get experience and learn, and that's what learner bikes are for. It's all about the journey of discovery; so fill up, head out and see where you end up. who knows what you may find, and you can tell US what 'nice' roads you have found we might like to ride.

Jup, clocked it when you put up the full route. Ridden it many, MANY times. & Birmingham Rd, A3400 from SonA all the way to Shirley was my daily commute, when I worked at Lucas. We used to do the Warf-Waterman, on a Wednesday after work, when they had bike-night there still.

Well it seems you have been following my advice since before I gave it! Now there's enthusiasm!
The A5, Wattling Street, doesn't go through Leicester
You must have come down the A47? To Hinkley, then up the Dordon stretch of Wattling. HORRIBLE stretch of frigging road, Roman, near arrow straight, constantly jumping out of single carriageway to duel, with ever changing speed limits the whole way, and a bludy Scamera box every limit change. Doesn't get much better on the new stretch past Tamworth; gets even horribler as you head into Cannock, gets quite nice past Galley, gets lost through Telford, gets interesting once you into Wales! THAT bit makes the rest of the run almost worth putting up with!

Y-e-e-s... for some reason whenever I have to go down that road over to Water-Orton for new tyres, I seem to 'forget' to turn left at Over Whitacre and end up going all the way past Kingsbury and then back again Coleshill-Atherstone makes nice triangle of half that road too; Number of dewie mornings I have done that loop, and stopped outside Govener's bridge before its opened to have a fag and look at the old bikes.
