4 people died within 3 hours, 3 of which were bikers. The articles doesn't mention it for some reason but the fog was extremely bad yesterday. Me and a mate were intending on going as far as the Lake District via Hartside pass (of course) but there's no point when you can't see a thing so we turned back early.

I wonder what the ratio of these deaths are is of "Car drivers doing SMIDSYs" to "Summer only riders overdoing it on their first ride in 6 months" (Or both). I actually kind of hope its the later - if I ever went out like one of these guys, I'd somehow rather it was my own mistake than a SMIDSY that did for me - not sure why though.

Eh, it's the same every spring. No doubt some new speed limits and "safety" cameras will be thrown up.

I went yesterday. It was a nice day. Little misty but nothing terrible...

The ride back was worse, dark, with a dark visor, and fog on the return into Leeds. Nothing drastic though I just altered my riding to suit.

Too many speed camera vans, cameras, etc out that way.

National statistics show 75% of bike accidents are rider error whilst smidsy drivers are generally halfwits that shouldn't be allowed to live there not the main cause of rider deaths we generally do it to ourselves
