well my chain and sprockets are absolutly knackered on my zx6r j2, the chain has no more room on the adjusters to tension and i can pull the chain off the rear sprocket so you can see the full teeth ,

anyway i took the chain off the other day to give it one last clean and noticed its a 530 pitch chain iv looked at ordering a new one from brookes barn and it state sits a 525 so im guessing the 525 is the standard size for this bike.

heres the ebay link to brookes barn shop

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ZX-6R-ZX600-J1-J2-NINJA-2000-01-Gold-X-Ring-Chain-Sprocket-Kit-/300973707764?pt=UK_Motorcycle_Parts&hash=item46136e51f4

what differences will i notice if any from a 530 to 525 i know it will be an improvement either way from the chain that slaps the bottom of the swing arm and side of the tyre.

I'm sure 525 is standard pitch for your bike, maybe somebody else can confirm it though?

525 and 530 have the same actual pitch @ 5/8th , it's the roller width that changes.

530 = 5/8" pitch x 3/8" width
520 = 5/8" pitch x 2/8" width.
525 = 5/8" pitch x 5/16" width

You should get whichever width chain fits on the sprockets.

You could fit a 530 chain on a sprocket designed for a 520 or a 525 but it would be too wide and would have a lot of sideways play. If you're unlucky, it could rub on something it shouldn't.
