Hi All,

Just bought my first every inline r6 2005 model.

On the log book it shows it as 04my , what does it mean?

does any one know if the digital speedo shows the current gear ?

I am waiting to get mine which will be this week hence why I am aksing these questions

also is it illegal to remove the exhaust pipe and simply install a short pipe ? the current long pipe looks a bit gay in my view.

Can I take the exhuast from my sv650 and install it on it ? it is ramus

Probably that it's an 04 registered in 2005 though

Doubt it will show what gear your in, never been on a bike that does

Yes you can change your exhaust, your sv can might fit if it's a slip on, just try and fit it and you'll find out pretty quick

That's an akraprovic exhaust, yes you can get one, although not sure if those stubby ones were made for the 05, think they are newer but not sure. Do some googling

End can will probably be around £400, full system provably around £800 for akroprovic

If you just want a stubby can for your r6, look at sp engineering stubby cans, be about £150 and there very good

are they just there for the look or do they have performance benefits?

what would be the point of getting the complete system ?

one other thing is, can i just put a short pipe on there? and remove the muffler.

Akroprovic are considered to be the best performance exhaust in general

Exhausts offer a little performance gain, some more than others. A full system will offer a bigger performance gain than just an end can

And what do you mean just put a short pipe on there ? As I said before if you just want a stubby end can And to get rid of the huge silencer, get an sp engineering end can

Will look like this https://thumbs1.ebaystatic.com/d/l225/m/mcbfru_GdPDBnPVZj3raosQ.jpg

You can fit something like that (i.e. racefit growler/insert default twat-cut pipe here) but there are schools of thought to suggest that it doesn't do your power output or your engine life any favours. Budget for a power commander and dyno time for any radical changes to the exhaust if you want it to run well and/or benefit from your modifications, you'll almost certainly get away with just a normal end can, less so with full system. Need to notify ins company and probably pay more for mods like full system and PC3.

Also worth considering they make the rider look like a complete faggot and I'd expect a pull in short order if you ride it around a truffle sniffer.

EDIT: from your other 19 workshop threads, seems you want to track day it. Good luck with that if you have a faggot pipe, tracks tend to have noise limits.

There are things yiu can buy for your bike like that yes, but it won't sit under the bike like that, it will be where your silencer is now

Those exhaust that are basically under the bike are on newer models, you'd have to cut your downpipes there to get yours there

And as above, you wouldn't get on a track like that, they have noise limits and are very strict on it

Maybe, who knows

To get it sat like the picture That will involve cutting your exhaust system by the way, it's not a direct fit. So be sure it's what you want or you'll end up needing to replace the whole system
