Isn't it funny how you and your bike just sort of wear in to each other and you just don't notice little things until you try something different.

My drz has approx 35-40,000 on the clock, I get on it and ride it just fine it does what I want it to and has never let me down.

I recently did a ride on my girlfriends klx250 which has done about 2000miles and that rode nicely too.

When I got back on the drz I realised the suspension is completely bolloxed, the cables are all knackered, there is play in everything and its a bugger to start when hot, I'd just been riding round its little problems obliviously lol.

Then I had a go on my mates KTM which he rides like a loon and that was a whole different level of knackered every bearing had a mile of play, the front wheel spacers where missing with a couple of washers in their place, the bar grips where paper thin, the throttle was incredibly heavy and the clutch dragged something rotten. Again he was oblivious to all this and just kept going!

Just think its funny how if you've had a bike for a fair while its like a comfortable old pair of boots, worn in and a little worn out.[/b]

Might just be the bikes themselves, like you could get onto another bike the same make, model and year as yours and it'll feel different may handle different etc.

Suppose you just get used to the way the bike feels or like if you've had it for ages it starts of fine but then slowly things start to wear out but your subconsciously not noticing it. Like the bike will loose bhp the more miles it does and the older it gets, so your bike may not be as powerful as it was when it was knew due to wear on the engine etc but you won't notice it as it's happened over a long period of time so it feels no different.

I was happy with my bike until someone started ging on about the rear shock on theirs being knackered and all bikes like mine have the same problem. Didn't notice it until I checked for it. Now I have a bike that I wont ride until I have sorted the rear out and cant get two bloody bolts off to do it.
