Just a quick one, when going to "bike meets/rides" are there many l platers that turn up?

You will see a few 125's, but there will be a very little amount of them in comparison to the amount of bigger bikes.
Why do you ask and which bike meet/ride is it?

Nothing in particular really, just wanted a general idea of the reaction I'd get.

I am looking to do Direct access eventually but it's pretty expensive, and iv just spent about à grand on cbt, bike and gear so it's gonna have to wait a few months now

Entirely depends on the venue and group. My local MCC is "125 friendly" but there are a few rolled eyeballs when someone rocks up on a Daelim 125 exclaiming "It's OK, it'll do 90, legit." One ride out, the single 125 rider's bike died and everybody else (self included) just abandoned him with visible relief the moment he said "I've got breakdown cove...". Poor show.

Problem is that if nobody on 125s goes, then nobody on 125s will feel welcome. If the meet says 125s are welcome, keep them honest. Wink

You wouldn't be treated any different because you're on a 125. Most of the bike meets I've been to were on my little 125 and everyone was just as friendly as they are to me now that i'm on a bigger bike.

I've been out on rides with a couple of people rather than actual meet ups. I plan to attend one in May and depending on test results, that could be on a 600 or a 125 - they're a good crowd though.

I think some wankers just forget they weren't born on a motorbike! Nodding, or lack of, is irritating too. Especially when the two bigger bikes in front of you get acknowledged. Anyone would think I was Hitler on a Repsol!

Sounds good!
I'll have to keep a check on what's going on locally.

https://www.meetup.com/The-Birmingham-Worcester-Droitwich-Evesham-Motorbike-Group/ - "This group is aimed at any and all bikers, new and old are welcome!"

Have a look at the above site and keep an eye out for meet ups near you. I've never been to one of their meets yet as i'm waiting for a meet or ride that's in Birmingham or starts from Birmingham.
