Hi guys, one of my firsts posts here, and I'm in my first month of riding with those charming loser plates.
I have a '01 CG125 I picked up for £700, and I am having a slight issue at the moment;
My right rear indicator has stopped working, well, it works intermittently, I know the fault, however I can not access the cables to plug them back in due to a pair of nuts that are insanely tight and very much inaccessible with my set of tools.
In the process of trying to trouble shoot my fault, I thought that the cable running to the indicator itself was broken, as when bent in a certain way it would resume flashing. In my erroneous haste, I trimmed the wires down a touch to see if I was able to fix it that way. That didn't help, so I decided to take the seat off and get at the rear part of the loom, I suppose, where the bunch of cables split off for the rear lights. I am able to see that a connector has become disconnected, and it simply needs to be plugged back in, as I stated above, however, I am unable to access it.
I have come to the conclusion that I'll drop it off at a garage tomorrow during work. I would like to know the price I should be expecting to pay. Considering I know the fault, it shouldn't be too costly? I was able to take the seat and such off in a matter of 5-10 minutes, I just became unstuck at the crazily tight nuts. As far as I am aware, the labour cost should be less than an hour and parts, if any should be a matter of a few pounds. Am I bang on with this, or should I prepare to part with more money? |
