Hi,

A Spanish friend of mine wants to bring his bike back from Malaga to Bristol, so I have decided to ride my bike to Malaga to meet him before we ride back to the UK.

So far the idea is to ride:

Bristol - Portsmouth

Ferry: Portsmouth - Santander

Then ride to the west, down through Portugal, then east along the Spanish south coast to Malaga.

We will then follow the coast east to Barcelona, then back though France to Caen/La Harve to get the Ferry back into the UK.

Does anybody have any suggestions of know great roads to take and places to visit along the way?

Thanks,
Simon.

Instead of going all the way to Calais why not get a ferry from Le Harve or Caen to Portsmouth and ride back up through Salisbury plain? Cuts out hours and hours of boring motorway riding.

Great idea thanks.

I always assumed the ferry was much more expensive so wrote the idea off. From what I see it looks to be about £50-70.

also, don't book the eurostar to get back, you want to book the eurotunnel, eurostar is a passenger train.

An extra two tanks of fuel to get to Calais, and extra two tanks of fuel to get from Folkestone works out at around £60-£80.
