I support the use of chippings being left, can I make a petition for that?

The top google hit on e-petition for this received 104 signatures.

https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=e+petition+chippings&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a&channel=sb&gfe_rd=cr&ei=fXBCU7CPDcrR8gfukYDwAQ#channel=sb&q=e+petition+surface+dressing&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official

How do you plan to achieve more than this?

Have any changes to local or national government ever been brought about as a result of an e petition?

Or is it just a government wheeze to keep the masses quiet by the illusion that they can actually affect change?

Either way, duly signed! Confused

White lines are slippery, BAN THEM.

Cats eyes are slipper, BAN THEM.

Road Gritters are distracting, BAN THEM.

See where this is going?

That is even before you consider, would you rather they spend more on the road resurfacing, and cut back even more from Schools/NHS/Police?

What's your knowledge and experience with the different methods of resurfacing roads?

I saw that last e petition but that called for a total ban and that's not going to happen in this financial times. Also it was without substance.

With more monies being made available through government they may accept the petition and put something out that forces the repairers to finish the job properly and for our benefit.

We can but try. that's why its being put out there and needs all our support. Nothing changes if we don't try. Thumbs Up

FWIW, this is a bit of a shit 1st post when joining a forum.

How about introducing yourself and not just telling everyone to sign it or they will die.

4 signatures? Powerful movement you've got going there; clearly your skills at whipping up the masses are to be feared.

PLEASE STOP SHOUTING WE CAN HEAR YOU.

I'd warrant that most resurfacing of this sort is carried out by local councils rather than the Highways Agency / DfT.

If you want to get it sorted in your area, you'd be better off joining the local MAG or equivalent and campaigning directly.

How about an e-petition to allow women out of the kitchen for brief periods, to sweep freshly treated roads?

Now the "nightmare" in the title isn't hyperbole.

Hi, Mumsnet.

Very Happy Oh you wag, you.
I doubt a local MAG could campaign itself out of the pub.

As an example I'm still waiting for an email reply from York Mag about Lendal Bridge closure to motor vehicles (exception apply). That trial ran from August 27 to February 26 and reports indicate they'd like to renewed/extended the scope of that.

No need for a petition for that. How else does Shaggy think the beds get made, toilets cleaned, shirts ironed, etc.? Magic pixies? Or is he living with Mary Poppins or Nanny McPhee?

Hi, Mumsnet.

This petition has a spelling mistake within the first three lines.
If you want to be taken seriously check your spelling before you hit the send button
