I would be very tempted, however it doesn't look likely with current finances. However do take a look at https://www.nurburgring.org.uk/ it's very informative, enjoy but be careful. Thumbs Up

I'm up for it. The ring https://www.nuerburgring.de hasn't published its 2005 opening hours calendar yet, so I'd want to wait to see what hours over what weekends it's open before committing to a date.

Used to live in Nijmegen in the Netherlands - you could do the ring in a day and be home for tea Laughing

A trip from the UK doesn't need much planning - just take the tunnel and go for it. Never had any trouble finding a hotel (but we used to like to stay a few KM away to warm up the bikes on the trip there in the morning. Staying at a hotel in Nurburg might require pre-booking. They built a new Dorint (I think) recently. Expensive, but about 1KM from the entrance and it has a pool...

I was over there last year and plan on going back over in the summer sometime so count me in.
I think if you allow around £500 for travel, tyres, hotel, fuel etc you'll be pretty close to the overall cost of a trip.
Expensive but great fun.

well i went to germany with my dad last weekend, and went to nurburg while we were there, and its very easy to find, but lots of motorway roads
down to the channel tunnel, over to calais, head for brussles, down to liege, take the detour to the spa as there are amazing roads then down towards bittburg, then follow the signs, in amini it took us 5ish hours from calais to bittburg, includint lots of stops for peeing, petrol stretches and food. very easy, and you should all come with me this summer, if any northaners wanna go, im offering my house as an overnight stay before we go, come down the night before and leave in the morning.

well the dates usually come out end of feb time, and i think they start running it to the public middle of march ish. during the week they do evenings and at weekends they do all day, so im thinking possibly go down on a thursday(no dates yet) and friday ride the roads round and maybe a few laps in the evening of the ring, then sat and sunday, ride the ring and monday come back, or ride the roads again and come back tuesday, or just stay there forever and work in a hotel to fuel your addiction to the ring and never come backi like that idea best Very Happy Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

Always wanted to do the ring. Don't see what's wrong with september though.
Think the ring would need to be booked in advance though - wouldn't be worth riding there to find it's full!

And a touch nervous of sharing it with tourist coaches full of germans! Laughing

You dont book the ring. There is a barrier. Just put your ticket in and ride.
It's 14 miles long so unlikley to be full. May be busy but you just you just have to live with it.
Check before hand that the track is open.

look here for tips..... https://www.nurburgring.org/index.html
