Ah, OK, good info - cheers. I always thought they were different.
How would you know your bike's still legal though, without being tested, if you remove stuff?
Say, the OP removed the brake light or speedo? What do you need,
is it just a front and rear operated brake light and a speedo of some sorts? ____________________ TZR250 2MA road, TZR250 1KT road, TZR250 2MA race, TDR250, YZF-750R Boost colours.

See, OP is keeping a brake light, which does break the daytime MOT reg, but he doesn't care
You need a speedo, doesn't have to work though.. Just be present.
A horn.
A number plate.
That is all.
This is my daytime MOT monkey bike.

Speedo, didn't work.
Horn, it was deadly silent.
Numberplate, present.
Having one light technically means all lights, people do ignore this, doubt they'll get prosecuted but they cry about people not knowing they are braking, don't brake, get in front of cars, simple as. |

It doesn't matter.
If your bike fell over and broke a lever, you replace it. Do you take it back for an mot?
Where do you stop?
Plus, as above, there is no daytime mot. the reason you can't ride at night is because it has no lights, not because of some mystical mot. ____________________ Nobby the Bastard: How yo tell the difference between the actual japanese and her just screaming because she's had live fish stuck up her arse?
