Fuel leaking when filling up

Morning.

Bit of a problem with my CBR F3.
I had it restricted at the weekend (tank/carbs off)

All was fine until last night when i went to go put some fuel in and strait away i noticed fuel leaking from the bottom middle of the bike.

I took the tank off and checked pipes going to the tank and no obvious leaks there.

So the fuel is coming from the overflow or the carbs?

Anyone had this before?

Either some crap has gotten in the float or whoever restricted it left something loose. Either way, they fucked it, get them to fix it.

Just inside the filler neck you should see a hole, this connects to a rubber pipe which runs to the bottom of the bike. Its in case you overfill the fuel. If you get a bit enthusiastic and splash fuel over it you will get some appear at the bottom of your bike.

You need to trace the leak by following the overflow pipe to see if it's coming from the tank or the carbs.

Tank overflow is from overfilling. Not something I have experienced, I don't think I've ever owned a bike with a working tank overflow, they tend to rust themselves closed after a few years.

Carb overflow means a sticking float. I had that problem with a CB500 a few years ago, whenever the carbs were drained the float would stick. Tended to unstick after getting a knock from the back of a screwdriver, or a short run to let the movement and vibrations free them off.
