Somebody who had the Bandit before me has decided to paint the downpipes black. Wasn't too sure whether they thought it might look racier or something or whether the downpipes were going to shit in some way and they decided to colour it.

We reckon it'll look better with the paint so we started scrapping the paint off and it looks perfectly fine. Just wondering if there is any quick way to make the process less tedious? This is the before and after so far:

nitromors?

granted the new stuff is crap, but should make it bubble an you can just wipe it off with wirewool

the old stuff would bubble the paint near enough straight away, the new "kitten safe" crap takes ages

you can buy the pure active ingredient for paint stripper off ebay pretty stinky though....

Try plain old petrol. I painted the tank of my CB500 matte black and about 3 days later split some petrol on it when filling up. Took the paint clean off.

I highly recommend the Wickes equivalent, Heat Shield I think its called. Thumbs Up
It has been on my previously rusty as shit exhaust kept outside for months and no sign of rust since, I did do nine coats with proper drying and curing time though.

+1 for petrol, same thing happened to me. Might have been cheap paint, but it started coming off when petrol dripped on it Smile
