It's getting that time of year and my license will be clean for the first time in about 6 years soon.
Any recommendations for test days? I'd like to try a few new sports bikes and maybe a couple of Beemers.

Anyone in for a day out?

Or have the R&R changed since I was last on a test bike?

Your in luck! I think its Triumphs and Ducatis test drive weekend this weekend.

What happens if you crash it? You have to leave CC details with them or anything?

You don't Hand

AFAIK it's on their insurance but I think it'll affect your NCB.

I'm going to Peterborough tomorrow, I'll drop into the Trumpet place and see what the availability is like.

At Ducati roadshow they take your debit/credit card details, for a £1k excess. You don't actually have to have £1k available floating in the bank, the payment is basically "authorised" by the bank but not actually taken. Unless you crash that is, then it's taken, and you're in a world of pain with your bank if you didn't have the £1k available.

Panigale was £2k iirc.

Nobody crashed anything though. Someone dropped a bike on a Suzuki ride day, the pub carpark where it was set up is quite sloped, and just lost his footing and the bike fell, they didn't charge him.

I guess these bikes are going round the country and to all the shows etc getting ridden by hundreds of people before they get sold as ex-demo, so they don't expect them to stay in showroom condition.

There is numerous days throughout the year depending on where you live. Might have to travel to the next town or something, but from what I remember off top of my head, this year within 40 mins of sheffield there is something like 5 "open days" including the ducati and suzuki days, plus a Yamaha dealer and Triumph pre-book test day
