Daylight hours are getting longer and it doesn't seem to be so cold anymore, yippee!

However I can now confirm summer`s here....... the scamera vans are out Evil or Very Mad
Went down the A12 today and there it was Evil or Very Mad + further along, there were two piggies sitting in a V70 on the slip road Evil or Very Mad
And generally lots of piglets on the A12.

Just put it in the back of your head when you go for a spin , nice day + fast run + scamera van = points & fine Crying or Very sad

Fortunately? I was driving an old diesel Ford Fiesta and would not be able to break the speed limit if I tried Laughing

Can't accept that as confirmation of summer, unfortunately.
They've obviously got heated vans for the Bristol coppers, as they've been visible all winter too, from Bristol to Wells.

They do at least give you warning where they are likely to be

This equation can be simplified thusly:

nice day = scamera vans

From which we can extrapolate:

Britain = no fun allowed

I'm fairly sure they only have a couple of camera vans in Suffolk so we should report their locations and then fun can be had elsewhere...

Does seem to be an awful lot around Bristol, hardly ever see any on the way down/around Dorset.

They're not the brightest though if they're trying to suprise people, they always seem to park in the same few locations at the same times of day Thinking

You needn't bother. They're not exactly covert about it.

They publish where they're going to be for the rest of the week every Monday.
https://www.suffolk.police.uk/safetyadvice/roadsafety/safecam.aspx

They did the A12 on Monday and Wednesday this week and will be there again on Sunday.

EDIT: I see you found it.

Yeah, found it while having a poke about their site. I'll scrape that and generate myself some alerts

Can tell summer is here when the filtering lanes get clogged up (by people who can't filter) and you have bikes taking corners at 20mph below the capability; not even bothering to tilt the bike over.

I've started seeing Essex Police out and about a bit more too. I've generally been limiting myself to below-summons speeds recently anyway, as I am one of the poor bastards that likes to ride to the conditions (whatever that speed may be) but relies on his licence for a living also... Sad

you can tell when its summer here as the speed camera is on a bike

in the winter he is in a van and can be spotted from miles away

he hides the bike as far away as he can and pops out from behind a bush with his camera Twisted Evil

silly man Laughing

my mate has a nasty habit of parking his transit van on the path in front and then taking one of his other vehicles to work so he has to move Laughing Laughing Laughing

I'm eagerly awaiting the 'be safe out there guys' and 'atgatt' arguments along with the endless drivel of talk relating to some kind of holier than thou biking community perpetuating my FB news feed.

The more people I meet who ride bikes and have on FB the more I've adopted the attitude of this man

One of the worst things about becoming more experienced and having a faster bike - you're likely to get banned.

When I was on a 125, the blistering speeds it was capable of gave me a thrill, I can't do those same speeds anymore and consider it enjoyment.

If I went on the roads and stuck to every speed limit I would be very very bored. The posted speed limits you can do with your eyes closed. Also you're going faster so hard to see scamera vans as you're too busy looking at potential problems up ahead on the roadside / avoiding shite on the road.

I'll echo the post above, Britain = no fun allowed.
