I have fitted HID lights to the front of the bandit 1200sk4, what a safety improvement. Had a couple of near smidsy's but the cage drivers seem to spot you quite early and apply the brakes.

If at all possible get them fitted and don't forget to adjust your beam correctly. The high beam is also awesome on lanes, just got to remember they don't work straightaway but on the bandit twin projector type lights it doesn't cut the main beam so the high beam adds light rather than replaces it.

It really does turn day into night and fends of those evil cages!

Just out of interest, did you fit a full projector lens inside a clear lens headlamp, or just a bulb kit?
I'm wondering if cars are seeing you earlier due to dazzling light scatter.

Quite likely.
On 'flash' with my current head torch I use on my push bike, cars see me from at least one corner away.
Because it's stupidly bright and they have no idea what's around the corner - a UFO, perhaps - coming towards me I do dip the hotspot towards the road, but it's quite likely still bright enough near the edge of the output that they are forced to slow down enough because they haven't got an idea what's coming, how quickly or at what direction.
This isn't really very polite on my part.
