Was just browsing the forum and this was in the adverts at the bottomhttps://www.motorcyclespecs.co.za/Gallery%20%20A/Yamaha%20FZX%20250%20Zeal.jpg Yamaha Zeal 250, never seen or even knew it existed, but I certainly like the look of them Cool

Had similar experiences with stuff like the Yamaha Bulldog, SZR 660'S, R1Z's and Suzuki Goose, don't know if its because they're uncommon or what but I find them all kind of fascinating.

Any other uncommon bikes out there? Not talking one offs or limited production (like RC 30's) but mass produced that never took off, only ever had the luxury of one such bike I think and that was my MZ Skorpion.

My GS650GT was pretty unpopular at the time. Thinking about it, the capacity didn't really make much sense, least of all when there were about four concurrent variants. I've only ever seen one other one out in the wild.

I had one but have seen a fair few others about,even a very rare chain drive one. Capacity is 673cc which buggered a lot up insurance wise as at that time 650 used to be the cut-off between medium and big bikes. Very capable though.

@nowhere_elysium now that I think about it for a UJM I've not seen any GS 650's or CB 650's in the flesh just two KZ 650's, mustn't have been very popular CC over here.

@c_dug now those are rare but I expect a Tesi to be more so.

Can anyone remember that Aprillia that was designed by some French artist, it looked a bit like a Green Teapot with a 650 single, ugly as hell Thinking.

A contradiction surely! Laughing The Tesi would never have been a mass produced bike from the off, the GTS was designed to be mass produced and just never took off.

I had actually somehow confused the Tesi for the Gilera CX Shaggy D.A. posted Embarassed forgiveness please Razz (confusing a 2 stroke 125 for a Bimota one off is entirely possible in name Laughing )

That Evoblade certainly looks unique, reminds me of the Bimota SB's at first glance.

Few odd bikes around. Ducati Paso maybe, being dramatically different to any Ducati before that. BMW K1. Moto Guzzi Quota. Laverda Navarro 125 (indeed, quite a few Laverdas styled at that time). Yamaha R1Z and SDR200.

Really? I've never spotted them in the metal prior to the one that I found at High Beach, which had been molested with ape hangers (and no, it wasn't the GL).

Definitely agree on the capability aspect; they're a very nice ride, although my one has a monstrously heavy clutch.

I had a greay import zeal in the late 90's. It had overdrive and the styling was meant to be based on a dolphin.

It was shit.

There's nearly always a Katana of some sort on Ebay, but hardly ever a GT; apart from ours, I haven't seen another example of either on the road for donkeys.

You really need a new clutch cable, my Kat clutch is as light and smooth as the hydraulic item on the VFR.

May have to considera holiday in NZ, some interesting machines over that way by the looks of things, particularly this for some reason.

I gues those Zeals are all noise and no go, styling is definitely a matter of preference but it reminds me slightly of a Speed 4.

There's a trader fairly near me that has been trying to flog one of these for months. I would be tempted if it wasn't for the fact they want £2,500 for it - you could get a CBR250rr for not much more.

Seen a few youtube videos of them and they do look quite fun. Quite high revving I think, red line about 16,000rpm IIRC.
