Dunno, i've only seen speakers on big harleys or tourers before. Would you really actually hear it, or just feel it under the seat? Especially since most scooters like that have loud exhausts aswell?

Jesus Christ man... Don't make excuses for yourself.. Who gives a toss what other people think? It's your bike and you have every right to enjoy it, so do what you want and don't let anyone else tell you otherwise!

If I ever wanted neons/speakers/etc I would get them without a second though, just because someone thinks you're a scall if you've got em, it's their misinformation... Not your problem. Razz

Exactly... A 'Chav' isn't a real thing anyway, it's a term that people use for their convenience when they feel like disregarding someone's rights as a human.

I think it looks very kewl actually. I know if I had one on my old ped, it would have been much more enjoyable when I pulled up for a drink or something.

Binge, You seem very handy with electrics, and also on the respray! And how do you make all of this time? are you aschool kiddy still? Laughing

As my Tshirt says...

No job
No money
no car
But im in a band Middle Finger

LOL!

erm, I dont go to school, and ive got a part time job. So ive got too much time on my hands...

Yea, Im pretty good at anything to do with my hands (Ok, no silly remarks on that yeh Wink )

Ive always been the type of kid who gets a toy for Xmas, takes it apart to see how it works and then puts it all back together again...

The wireing was pretty simple, I just need a decent switch for it. And the paint job, It took 3 days, (Saturday, Sunday, B/H monday)

Chavs tend to be show offs. That is most definitely showing off as it has no performance, purely aesthetic value.
I'm not calling anyone a chav here as that would be pot kettle and black, but that is the kinda thing you do purely to impress people

Surely thats the whole point of this thread considering the question was "Do underseat stereos and amps make a ped chav-style"

WHY?

The whole advantage that a bike or scooter has over a car is power to weight ratio.

Stereos and particularly amps way an awful lot, and a full face helmet does not allow you to hear it properly anyway. So you are adding pointless useless weight to your underpowered twist and go scooter. The only reason I can think of is that you want to use your scooter as some kind of substitute until you can afford a bodykitted nova or corsa.

If you neeeeed tunes whilst riding, buy an ipod or equivalent.

IMO this is a Thumbs Down subject.

If i had a ped and was still jamming with a bad, i'd somehow customise it to fit a nice 12 inch celestion speaker (or 10 inch), mount the circuitry somewhere and you have a mobile Marshall/Peavey solid state amp - powering it would be a different matter - but i would think that a sound system on a ped just totally defeats the purpose of having a ped. You are there to enjoy the elements!

Uh. Im getting sick of people asking if things are chavvy its doing my head in. To me a chav is an attitude problem, if you want a stero on your ped, which you clearly do. Get it put on and have fun!

Why not just be concerned about your own life and not what people think of it? It's lots for fun when you think for yourself rather than having a sheep like mentality when it comes to doing something that someone else that you'll never ever meet on a forum might think you're a bit of a wang for doing! It's not like you pissed on their kids for gods sake!

And if they still complain, smack em in the head with half a house brick.

I think it's a great idea as a temporary thing. Many times I've been sitting off with some friends at night and we've all missed having some background music, to the point of bringing those cheap mini-speakers and mp3 players along.
