 |
|
My project bike/box of bits is currently SORN'd, I assume that because of the change to the regs, last December, that I no longer have to apply each year to SORN it.
However, I have moved house, if I send off the V5 for a change of address does this mean I will have to make a new SORN application?
Maybe I'm looking in the wrong place, but on the SORN web page there is no mention of change of addres.
In an ideal world I would expect "the system" to pick this up, but we are talking DVLA therefore I automatically assume a massive, ball aching, foul up to ensue!
Secondly, with my move, I need to change the address on my licence.
What is the current situation regarding DVLA, magically, losing various entitlements when processing licences?
Not sure if this is correct but, a post on pepipoo mentioned that there is no stipulation as to when you should surrender your licence, when applying for a change of details, in other words apply for amended licence send the old one back after you've received the new one. ____________________ "Everybody needs money, that's why they call it money!" |

I would 'misplace' a licence just in case. Although the Department of Various Lost Articles never make a mistake, so they told me. I would write to the DVLA and SORN the bike again from the new address (send it 1st class from a post office and ask for FREE proof of postage)

Try and SORN it again online just to be sure.
And just tick the "lost" box on the license application. Better you "losing" it than them. ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.
