I was speaking to a bloke today who said that one of the bike magazines (he thought it was Performance Bikes) was doing a test for GSXR750s at Bruningthorpe. Apparently register, turn up for free and blast your bike down the straight to see what speed you can hit.

Now, I've just stopped on the way home and looked at some of the magazines and can't see mention. Anyone seen this? I'd love to see what my bike actually does flat out.

Cheers.

Yes, it is in PB.

Instructions say to send an e-mail to mike.armitage@emap.com with your name, daytime contact number and model of GSX-R750. Thumbs Up

Nah its impossible to do it on a 400, although

my RS125 used to do 219mph easy in 2nd gear 2,000rpm

Is Elvington just over the 1/4 mile, or a longer distance? I've done the one at Santa Pod, but that's no good for hitting top speed.

1/4 mile

then another mile and a bit to the next set of lights

then 1/2 mile (ish) for braking

I did 201 there last year Wink

Two sets of timings lights then?

I'd need a force 9 hurricane behind my bike to hit that speed!

yep, normal racing against another bike for the first quarter

he stops

you don't

for another mile or so

then there is a speed trap

gotta be worth a go surely, just so you can have some proof instead of all the pub bravado Wink

Exactly what I was thinking. And also to see just how inaccurate my speedo is at high speeds without being sentanced to picking up the soap for Mr. Big Shocked

Why take all the fun out of top speed runs though?

Hmmm... trouble is it's 190 miles in each direction, which is a bit of a trek.
