George Brough, of Brough Superior fame, is being honoured, remembered, recognised, in Nottingham!

AFAIK, in the motorcycling world, the name and marque have never been forgotten.

There is some bollox in this article, in particular "the British Harley" reference, Rolling Eyes !

As far as I know, Harley Davidson never made a car. Something that article overlooks as well.

I used to live a few doors along from the Mandalay Street address and had literally no idea that he used to live there. I mean before my time obviously. The Brough company was always in my conscience as a local interest though.

On a further note it's a genuine shame to see the demise of engineering and manufacturing in general in Nottingham slowly grind to a halt. In the last 15 or so years we've lost a significant chunk of Boots, all of Royal Ordnance, Cussons factory is down to nothing, Imperial Tobacco is soon to close its doors, Plessey/Siemens/whatever they're called this week. There can't be many cities in the UK where the local bus company is the fourth or fifth largest private employer.
