This appeared on my facebook feed. It would appear that a great many people are siding with the biker.

To be fair, saying it's karma that the biker got knocked off for overtaking is pretty cruel.

In the UK opening a car door like that is a specific criminal offence. Whether the biker overtook one truck or a dozen is irrelevant.

If you click on "Metro News Reporter" in the top left the title of the page is "All by Jimmy Nsubuga"
So Jimmy, if you think this is "karma" I wonder what karma you will receive for writing this article.

I don't read metro, so didn't really have any expectations prior to this. It came up on my facebook feed, thought "Ah, that's news (of sorts). I'll put that into the BCF Biking News section".

CaNsA - Nice work. I'm guessing he was expecting more people hating on bikers. Maybe he got beat at a traffic light grand prix whilst he had a hot date in the car with him.

Karma would be the truck driver getting hit by a bus wing mirror next time he's walking down the street.

That's not karma for the motorcyclist or their pillion, that's just harsh luck for something unexpected (expect the unexpected and be prepared) but really, can you reasonably expect that.

Probably written by someone bitter about having to sit in traffic on their commute whilst bikers filter past them... they probably think its illegal and go out of their way to make the gap too small for a bike to get past. Karma for them would be getting stuck for 20 minutes behind someone waiting to turn right who didn't leave a big enough gap to squeeze past on the left when there was plenty of room for them to move over.

That looks deliberate by the lorry driver because he wasn't happy a biker was going to pass him while stuck in a traffic jam, but didn't realise how quickly he was overtaking. On the other hand he did chance his luck overtaking so many at such a speed which wasn't wise, and so I think a bit more caution with a little less speed would have been wiser.

I would say it was 70% fault on lorry driver if it was stupidity in opening a door on the traffic side of the road and 30% for the biker! Now if it was deliberate hold back the biker about to overtake then 100% the driver's fault! I wonder if the Police came to the scene to take statement or was it all done through insurance instead?

Overtake was excessively fast, the trucks were more or less stopped so not too surprising someone gets out..

Meh. Filtering is inherently risky, stuff happens.

Nothing in the PCC code of practice prevents journos being twunts. Indeed, they're specifically free to be "partisan".

I can't watch the vid 'cos the GooTube account has been terminated (presumably for all the negative comments it received), but I totally agree that Associated Press are scumbags of the highest order & anything they print is just rhetoric to suit their fascist agenda.

Article has been re-written, questioning if it was fair to call it "karma" and as if to place the shame of rebuking the rider onto nameless commentators.

What a push-over.

"But one user on LiveLeak sympathised with the motorbike rider and blamed the accident on the truck driver."

I'm not gonna call it karma, but I'm not sure I'd have made that for an overtake. Looked risky to me.

As for the Shit-ro, well I kind of regard it in a similar vein to The Sun for content. Utter bollocks in other words.
