I've blurred vision in one eye. Works to an extent but smaller words and letters are still unreadable.

Neither am I but if you unfocus your eyes and kind of stare at nothing, the world will go blurry and then the trick will restore it while you keep your eyes unfocused. Thumbs Up

I found that there's a trick to getting it just right, keep trying and you'll find a way to get it just right.

hehe I do that every morning to check the time on my alarm clock.
This is also the reason why short/long sighted people squint when they don't have any glasses, it has more or less the same effect

This is the same reason I can see clearer on a bright day or when I'm tired - pupils is smaller and the projection onto the retina is helped by the pinhole camera effect.

It's also the same reason that cameras with small apertures have a large depth of field.
