Which bike??

I'm looking for a replacement to my elderly zzr1100. It's for a 175 (soon to be 300) miles motorway commute, to be done a few times a month.
I'm looking for - comfort, and enough uuuumph to be happy on the M6.
My initial short list is -
Ducati Multistrada, zzr1400 or Z1000sx, Honda VFR, or maybe a FJR.
I'm not thinking new, but not looking fortoo old either, I'll hopefully be keeping it three or more years so maybe 62 plate or so.
Any other ideas please?

K1200S or 1300S would be right at the top of my list.

Shafty is Win, plus ABS, electric suspension adjustment, traction control, heated grips, quick shifter etc... all as standard or factory options. Choose well and get one hell of a bike for your money.

I agree with the BMW suggestions, and yes, I think they're fantastic bikes. But, well, I just think they're bloody ugly! I looked at them a month ago and (not wanting to offend anyone here but...) the styling just isn't for me...

My brain says the zzr would be best, I'm just frightened that a zzr1400 on an empty M6 would result in me being on a bus before too long. I struggle on the 1100 now...
I do like Ducatis and the idea of a Multistrada appeals, but somehow I fear that the bike wouldn't handle the mileage well.
(Actually my brain says keep my current zzr. It's reliable, cheap to run and service, bloody quick and comfortable and owes me nothing. I just fancy a newer bike..)

stick with it then, think of the beer money you'll save by running it for a few years then chopping it in for something else.

or hold off buying anything until October, when you'll get whatever you want cheaper, then sell yours the following April.
