How many of you on CBT actually display front l plates?

I know the law so I don't want a lecture, I just seem to be seeing more and morepeople with rear only l's displayed.


Anyone been pulled over for it?

Used to take both of mine off when going on motorways.

If you've got none then you're risking more points but it's less obvious that you're committing an offence.

As to getting more nods with it off, why does that matter? Do your test if the amount of nods you get is of any importance whatsoever.

You may not want a lecture, but I want to tell you that when I was tugged for "speeding" on my 125, the first thing that Inspector Clueless did was go round and look at the front of the bike.

Been riding with just one rear for 2 years, almost everyone at college does the same and have never heard of anyone being pulled. Obviously it depends how anal the police are in your area.

I rode for like 8months with just a rear L plate on my 125 and then put my front L plate on when my friend got 3points for not displaying an L plate at the front of his bike

I do plan on doing my test as soon as possible, financially it isn't doable for at least 2 months.

Cheapest das course I can find locally costs £700!

My front genuinely fell off a couple of days ago, I have bought another, just reluctant to fit it as it looks so shit!

When i was on my 125, before i passed my test, i had them on both front and back. It just isn't worth the agro if you get caught.

The morning my daughter sold her bike she accidentally snapped the front plate off removing the cover.

I have both on at the moment, but thinking of moving the front one, from the type that sticks out the side, to a sticker on the mudguard.. does this damage the paintwork at all though??

I never understand why people are reluctant to comply with the law for such a minor little thing as "it looks silly". If it keeps falling off, then there are easy ways to secure it so it doesn't fall off.

I'd guess that not many people would fail to display a tax disc in their car becasue it looks silly!

I passed my A1 test on my own bike to get rid of my L. They look like aids and only cost £100 to get rid of.

Before I got rid, I took my bike to a sticker/vinyl wrap place, and they fitted the L to the front of my bike with a heat gun and liquid spray to get it totally flat. Cost £15 and didnt look as shit.

I used to display both when I had to, just taped the front one to the inside of my windscreen/wind deflector/useless piece of plastic.

Saw a bright orange RS125 the other day with full race livery and it took me a few minutes to make out the 'L' mixed in with all the sponsor logos.

I've also seen people sporting a red 'L' on a transparent background so it doesn't look as bad. I don't know if there's a specific size/colour scheme like with number plates though.
