How do they work? Do you add the two load ratings together, or just use the weakest one?

I've found some tyres in the right size, however they are marketed as "scooter" tyres. Speed rating is far in excess of what the bike will do, just looking to make sure this load rating is okay.

Maybe a bit more info? Tyre type/bike/size...

If the load index on the new "scooter" tyres matches or exceeds what is currently on (or recommended for) the bike then maybe OK.

Scooter bothers me though.

Just be careful of the implications to your insurance.. i've heard of insurers (no references..) trying to worm their way out of paying by blaming the speed ratings of tyres. A.k.a a lesser rating been fitted and them saying that it caused the accident. Never mind the fact your bike will ever reach the lightspeed rating the tyre can do..

From looking at the rim size, it seems that with a rim size of 2.15x16, I should be fine using 110/90 section tyres which are well within the 2.15 rim width suitability. I might try having a look as it will make way more options open.
