Need to get new tyres on the shadow by the end of the month. Would like something a little better than the Dunlop D404s that came standard.
Every tyre I come across with good reviews appears to be for tubeless fitting, but my shaodw has tubes.

Any recommendations?

put a tube in,
easy, my bike runs tubes in tubless tyres,
tubeless just means it can run with out a tube, not that it has to

I run Conti Milestones on my 535, similar kind of smallish cruiser. Rode through 2 winters with them, pretty good in the cold and wet, not made a mess of them riding hard through summer. Ridden through all kinds of shitty conditions and not let me down. Reasonable amount of feel and feedback when pushing on with some noticable squirminess before a slide, but you have to be riding like a toolbar. Front tread pattern could be better and is nervous over white lines and leaf slime more than other tires I've tried.

Overall, not had better on a cruiser, had loads worse, Metzler ME77s were pretty awful on my first GZ, cheap nasties on my second were much btter (King branded I think). Had a conti blitz and a bridgestone on my 535 at first, the conti was pretty good but died of age, the bridgestone was hard as a hard thing and was not confidence inspiring at all.

I have d404 currently on mine and they seem fine but changing fairly soon and will give metzeler me888's a try as they get very good reviews.

I have tubed tyres as well but the Honda manuel states the me888 can be fitted fine just need a tube.

I had Avon Venoms on the Harley. Far superior to the OE Harley-branded Dunlops that it came with.

Just about anything from a known brand will be pretty good.
