Well this ocurred to me yesterday, so its not a thought out idea. Feel free to shoot holes in it.

But does anyone feel like breaking the record (assuming there is one) for the most owners of one vehicle?

The V5 states the number of previous registered keepers. I've never seen one of these above twin figures, not even sure if the printer is set up to print big numbers.

So. Basic Idea. Someone on here with either a worthless bike or a frame with a V5, get someone else on here registered as the new keeper. then someone else, and so on. Just pass the V5 around the forum, let people be registered for it lots of times, just see how long it takes for the DVLA to lose it, or get pissed off, or realise their printer isn't set up for 1000.
Would also be nice to get it done before the DVLA try to charge us for changing ownership of a vehicle, in case they get it through this time.

Ive always felt like having my name in the Guiness book of records... BUT isnt it £25 each time you change your V5?

Nope it costs you £19 to replace a V5.

But in a sale you don't have to pay anything, the dvla does it for free.

I'd be in on that...
But this is for the sake of playing "pass the parcel" right - no one in their right mind is actually going to ride the bike? Ok - in that case, somebody start circulating a honda CB90 then Wink

Great idea. What in hell made you think of it. Find out if there is a record and we'll help you beat it.

The only problem I can see with this is that it often takes the DVLA weeks to send the log book to the new owner. Confused

Who's got a cat a write off they don't mind us trashing the reputation of?

Good point about declaring SORN first, I got my SORN declaration through today for a bike I sold a couple of weeks back, good job I've sent the v5 away already.
