How much is the usual going rate for these? I think I got a bargain but just like to know what they go for usually.

Although I have no need for one, I have heard nothing but good things about them.

It would probably be one of the first things I bought if I got a bigger bike.

Got one for my bike at christmas and it apparently cost around £65.
My Mum went and ordered herself one for her bike (FZS600) about the same price.
And they are good, and so much nicer to look at than the stock screens.

ZXR's are pants without DB's. You will be able to ride with your head in the right place now and not bent right back when accelerating Thumbs Up Bought a black Skidmarx DB and wacked a 'silkolene' decal on it. About £55 new Thumbs Up

They have another benefit on a Hayabusa that it allows you to see the speedo aswell Smile (always useful)

Fitted one on mine within 1 week of ridding with a stock screen

I've also been thinking about it but I didn't realise it was such a worthwhile purchase! I shall start looking into it now Smile

I reckon they are money well spent although I read an article about the double bubble acting like a magnifying glass and focusing the suns rays onto the clocks causing some slight melted marks over a long duration Shocked

Yeah Laughing . They also helps if you are thin and can't be asked to duck low down like an idiot when going at speeds.

Don't even have to duck on mine at any speed, and it's comfortable. Thumbs Up

Would be my first mod on any bike. So much better than stock, on mine.

If they are so good, why is the standard screen not a DB? Confused

Don't know but they should be. They are so much better than stock.

Do screen makers have to pay the bike manufacturers cash for selling things for their bikes or something? There must be a reason.

Maybe it's to make you slow down a bit when you get the bike? Above 40mph the windblast on my bike with the DB screen doesn't increase much, which is disconcerting until you get used to it.

Perhaps it's for aerodynamic purposes? A DB may be better for all of us in every day riding but for a test rider trying to post a top speed to put in a magazine test whil tucked up extremely tightly the normal screen may be better.
Also the bike companies sell after-market screen's too, so another way for them to make money.

It's probably a cost thing, coupled with the fact that people don't universally like them; I personally think that on a lot of bikes, they are fugly and can make the bike look rather odd.
