Here's my method.

The bricks stabilise and lift it another bit. I was doing my Linkage bearings but changing wheels would work.
My road wheels will have a different chain and sprocket kit to swap with the wheels. Not sure if a second set of spacers would be a good idea or not yet as the other set seem fairly stuck in the hubs. ____________________ Current:1991 Honda MT50 (Soon to be a H100/MTX/MT5 hybrid), 1976 Honda Cub C70, 2005 Honda Varadero 125, 1993 Yamaha TTR250 Open Enduro , 2010 Road Legal Stomp YX140, 1994 Honda CRM 250 MK III, 1999 Cagiva Mito 125, 1992 Honda CB400 Super Four, Stomp T4 230, 1984 Honda H100s, 2009 Sym XS125K

I use one of these cheapy MX lifts, usually for pit bikes, but it has heaved my SMC off the ground a couple of times no bother. Only issue is I have to roll the front onto some 1" MDF, then put it on the paddock stand to get the clearance. So you may wish to check the description, your bikes clearance and possibly its sag before buying, as well as perhaps considering how SM wheels will affect some of those factors afterwards (otherwise you might find it still airbourne after fitting and lowering ).
I find it much better than: logs/bricks/gromit/swinging from a rope looped over rafters ____________________ Chase my Witch up, Catch my Snitch up.
