Just completed the 2 day Bikesafe course.

1st day -classroom based - theory /videos /discussions etc.

2nd day - Observed ride - followed by de-brief of things that are good & maybe not so good.

I found it absolutely brilliant.

I daresay that there will be folks out on the BCF who will believe that they are above / beyond any further training (& that's fair enough.)

From my very recent experience - If you have the opportunity..do it!! You won't regret it! Thumbs Up

I'm led to believe that it's classed as 'further training' & therefore it 'may' result in a reduction of your insurance.

However...I dare say that if I contact my insurance firm to tell them I've completed this, it will probably cost me £25-00 administration fees to save £3-00 on my policy.

I(personally) will only declare it at my next insurance renewal. Smile

Just cos you've had one bad experience - i.e Stuart Hall was your trainer- doesn't mean to say that you won't benefit from someone else / different experience.

I'm booked in to do one in June, at £20 it's a steal and should be a good ride.

Apprehensive about willingly letting a rozzer follow me though!

I'm on one in June as well, although it's £15 through work, yours isn't in the High Wycombe area by chance is it ?

Quite looking forward to it, I believe you do get chance to push on a bit as well, if the criticism I will undoubtedly receive is constructive then it's money well spent I guess Wink

One of my teachers at college is an AIM instructor, is it a bit like that? Just being able to read the road better and handling the bike easier?

From my bikesafe day, it's more along the lines of "we know you're gonna speed, here's how to do it a bit safer".

Police sanctioned speeding. It was great fun!

Doing it near Durham, was one of the only places near Newcastle.

The prevailing attitude for the assessed ride seems to be: ride the way you normally would, I won't see any offences, but neither will I say a word in your defence if another copper tugs you.

I enjoyed it.
