Wotcha,

As well as my day job which pays the mortgage, I run a local convinience store in the nice little seaside village of Aberporth in west Wales (come and visit, we are lovely).

As part of our range of goods, we are a newsagent and as such stock all kinds of magazines from trashy girly reads (Hello, Bella, Best, etc.) to the other kind of girly mag's Smile

In amongst the range, we sell a few bike publications, MCN, Bike, Classic Racer, Practical Sportsbike, but I was thinking of expanding the range (at least over the summer months), so was wondering if anyone out there read these mags and could offer some suggestions of titles to run.

TIA.

Mike

Looks like you already stock the best, maybe BSH to mix it up a bit?

BSH??

Back Street Heros?

Used to carry that, but nearly always got returned as most of the bike mag sales are to either youngsters with/wanting big ass superbikes, or older gits like me, who are more at home with the tourers and such like, so the moded/chopped scene is not that pevalent down here, but thanks for the suggestion

I like PS and Classic Bike best, fwiw. As for Aberporth, well I like that too - but prefer Cardigan (Mwnt e.g.) and, further up, Llangranog, (my personal fave - ye famous hidden cove), Cwmtudu, New Quay and Aberraeron. Thumbs Up

Yeah that's the one........ not even one copy? Laughing

My favourites are Practical sportsbike (goldmine for info) and MCN for new stuff/news etc.

Motorcycle Sport and Leisure is one I try and get but few places do appear to stock (larger WH Smiths normally).

I like it because it does try and cover the whole spectrum and not just focuses in on power ranger sports bikes and bike racing.

Cheers for the input guys, have now expanded the range from next issues.
We stock several car mags and now fairly well represented on the two wheel front too.
Appreciate it.

Trevor Saxe.... Agree that all the places you named are lovely, not much to do as a day out if you are looking for commercialised areas, but great for a relaxing trip and sit by the sea.
Most of them have great facilities, beer, bacon, etc. and mostly bike friendly as a lot of bikers come here for hols and a blast on the roads as they are relatively good, not that busy in the summer and are full of fun twisty bits.

BTW, Aberporth has changed over the past couple of years, new owners to the cafe/chippy, really nice, the Pub is in process of expanding the sit down eatery, beach is still blue flag, plus, we now have the shop, so nice stock of booze and and expanding Bike mag range Smile

Aberporth is a community and small town in Ceredigion on the west coast of Wales. The population was 2,485 in 2001, 49% of whom spoke Welsh.

Already been mentioned, but Ride. Perhaps the only one I'd consider that you've not already mentioned.

Adventure bike rider could be an idea, although I haven't read it to see what the quality is or if it is any good.

I liked MSL, but dropped them when I was just thinking I ought to cut down the number of magazines I got and they sent me their "long time favourite subscriber BEST POSSIBLE subscription renewal offer" ... and it was higher than they were offering to new subscribers.

I was reading this in the dealers the other day while my bike was getting serviced, I would def pick it up if I seen it again, its a great magazine for learners imo.
