Southern Cross in Kilburn gets my vote.

The cost will depend on what you want doing. A normal power run with be about £30 for one run with no adjusting. If you want a full custom map IIRC these are around £200ish.....best to ring and ask as prices will vary.

nice, would they do cars as well ?

btw I have never been to one, on dyno if they are charging £30 is it for 1 run or 2-3 to get a reliable number ?

It'll be one run I would have thought, and no they can't do cars. Southern Cross has a Fuchs Motorcycle dyno (Only one roller, and IIRC it has a ram air thing as well).

The bike will make a slightly different power figure in pretty much every single run anyway, there are so many variables.

i went southern cross in kilburn and wont ever go again
the air to fuel ratio test not working they should have told me this on the phone before i went in!

the guy who did the dyno run came across as unprofessional and cocky, on the run he tried to lie and tell me in these words "your clutch is fucked!"
I know full well the clutch is not fucked as a few days later i went to Steve Jordan motorcycles in leatherhead and had them do a proper dyno run where everything was working and they were very professional and spoke like a proper adult who works in a business should!

Southern Cross may have been great in the past but that was my experience and it was very bad so i will never go back
The guy who works on the till in southern cross was sounds as a pound but the tall skinny guy doing the dyno was a failure!

my advice is go Steve Jordan in Leatherhead its a nice ride and is a bit out the way but thats a good excuse to ride the bike.

southern cross £30, steve jordan £35 i think for just a base run to check power and air/fuel ratio

full custom map at steve jordan is between £100 to £150 depends on how much tuning is needed

southern cross i think is about £100

Pole Position on The Highway, E1W, do a dyno day on Saturdays, there was talk of a BCF meet there at some point but it never came about.

I'd still be up for it a bit later in the year when I have a few more pennies.

If I get my bike dynojetted and mapped for my sports exhaust with the baffle out, will it run worse with the baffle in?

Yes. Maybe not LOADS worse, but you'll be restricting the exhaust gases again so theoretically you will lose power.

If you have no way of altering the map (ala powercommander) then a dyno is pretty pointless.

I thought so otherwise I am not sure If they can read faults/ clear it as with cars. can you do that on bike ?

Obviously the next stage of reading and clearing codes is coding but I don't think you can even do the first one let alone coding on the existing ecu.

with cars you have the obd 2 which you can plug any readers to and read faults and use specific software to code it .
I have done above on my bm

Bikes don't use a standard communication protocol like cars, so may be specific to that ecu/bike/manufacturer.

EU was planning to force bike manufacturers to adopt standard protocols, but it was blocked pretty much by MCN and MAG, and their usual bullshit hype wagon.
