I noticed when I test rode my new bike (BMW K1200R Sport) that the seat was very slippery; it's not something I'd noticed on the other bikes of the same model I'd ridden.

I assumed the valet guy had polished for sale but now I've had it home and given it a good wipe down with isopropyl and a wash, it's still the same Sad

Any ideas how to up the friction a bit? Cheap is good, but not damaging the seat beyond use is better, so giving it a quick rub coarse sandpaper is out (and so is gluing sandpaper to it!)

My wife complained of this as a pillion and I gave her an Airhawk seat. It's not for sliding, per se, but it helped.

I'd only seen the triboseat for passengers, but I see they do one for riders, too...

Also:
Triboseat £14
Airhawk £170-ish

Think I know which one I'll try first!

Thanks guys, karma sent Smile

1.5m from Wilko. £4.00.

Remove seat, wrap under, replace seat.
https://www.wilko.com/sticky-back-plastic/d-c-fix-deco-non-slip-liner-black-30cmx150cm/invt/0309564

Its not actually sticky back, just grippy.

Also good for protecting paint work from throw over panniers.

That looks good, too Smile

Think I'll end up getting it recovered posh-like, but that's a way down the road yet - got to recover from paying for the bike itself first Wink

Another vote for this stuff from me too. I've got a strip across my Bandit seat, works really well.

Cool, any idea of the safest way to stick this to the plastics around the tail end so that tail bag bungees don't damage the fairing paint?

I don't stick it on, I just lay it underneath my tank bag or panniers.

I wouldn't mind making it more semi permanent on to the fairing sides though but glue can screw with your plastics.

If the wasps can keep up you're going too slow! Wink
