Not having worked for a bike shop before, I'd presume it'd still be a normal interview, although you may be tested on your level of knowledge on bike clothing and even bikes in general. Most likely, that'll be done at an informal level. You're into bikes and if you search for clothing posts on this forum, it'll probably show you a lot about what sort of clothing is suitable for whom.
Best thing I can say to you is "practise, practise, practise"....preparing your answers, writing them down, saying them out loud, google LOTS for sample answers to questions. If you do a fair bit, it'll pay off HUGELY.
I did when I realised my interview technique was crap. Once I had practised, I landed the job I really wanted and because of all of the preparation I done, I can now speak a lot more confidently, smoother, can bullsh*t my way out of anything because of it. It'll help for other jobs as well.
Honestly, it helped me hugely, can't thank google enough for finding those interview technique sites I got advice from!!! |

Thanks for the advice! I'm usually quite good in interviews! It's a bit of a change of career for me though, last 2 jobs have been computer/office work and I want to try something else! Wanted to work for this company for a long time and now here's my chance so I'm bricking it!
Thanks a lot again

Would I be right in thinking that it's Hein Gericke as they're pretty much the only large chain will sell things like lids, gloves, boots, oil, wing mirrors, etc. ?
Slightly daft question, but what is the job you've got an interview for as Hein Gericke (and all stores) have a range of different jobs and you'll be asked different things for different jobs so it'd help people if you said what the job is. |

If it is Hein Gericke, then knowledge might possibly be useful (as they are the only place that I have been to where the staff actually know stuff...)...otherwise, I'd brush up on your personality and sales skills, 'cos they'd probably be more interested in selling things today rather than tomorrow.
If this chain is not Hein Gericke, and either begins with F (and ends in "owlers"), or sounds like "Karnells" or "Motorcycle Shitty", then here's a tip - never admit to knowing anything about bikes! ____________________ TiN

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another. |
