I need to make a cord, with a loop on each end. I don't want the loops to slip. What knots do I need? Once I know what the knot's called, I can look up how to tie it ____________________ Space Is Deep |

Not sure of the relevance of the above pic but you don't need to be incompetent to shoot yourself in the foot with this pistol...it'll do it for you ____________________ Space Is Deep |

Hi Bonny just heard from UK Crossbows and they're sending me a replacement body. From what I can work out, the 80lb draw pistol I have, is basically a 50lb body with a stiffer bow. Trouble is, the safety can't hold the extra 30 lb. Seems some from a batch can handle it even less and they're sending the whole lot back. They havn't had a problem with the 50lb safety since 2006 apparently.
Apart from the teeny-weeny misfire problem it's ok for 20 knicker
Let's face it though, £20 or not, the safetly catch not working is quite a serious thing and I can see little Johnny accidentally slamming one of these bolts into little siss' or the pet pooches brain with ease.
Credit to UK Crossbows for the prompt response 'Shame I'll have to wait about 5 days for Hermes to get the replacement body 50 miles up the M11 ____________________ Space Is Deep |

I don't think UK Crossbows store them but the Armex Tomcat seems quite popular as an entry level pistol with enough grunt. ____________________ Space Is Deep |

I've fixed this one now....just filed a couple of mm away from the body so that the bow can sit lower. Seems to have stopped the string rolling of the latch ____________________ Space Is Deep |

Yes, I sell the Tomcat.
https://www.ukcrossbows.co.uk/80lb-self-cocking-aluminium-pistol-crossbow-wood-effect
Black finish, wood finish and with red dot scope.
They're now known as "Cyclone" from Anglo Arms, used to be Cobra.
They're the same, just different packaging.
Regarding the faulty crossbow, I am not sure if the whole batch is faulty or not, probably not, as there has only been the one complaint before this which does seem to be user error, however just to be sure, all remaining 80lb standard bows are going back.
As for little Johnny, there's no chance of him being shot, as little Johnny shouldn't be standing in front of a crossbow, safety or not if he's in front of the crossbow, he's risking his life.
Rule number 1. NEVER aim or point a crossbow at a person or animal, including yourself, regardless of it being loaded.
2. Test the trigger before loading the bolt.
Always think with the mindset there is no safety, don't rely on a piece of plastic, rely on yourself.
3. Don't load the bolt, until you're ready to fire.
4. Don't hold your finger over the trigger, keep it to the side.
And I'm sure there are plenty of other things to remember...
The 80lb self cocking crossbow is the most popular pistol crossbow I have for sale, and to be honest a much better build quality, much nicer and easier to use.
This is really the only model people should buy, it's worth the extra few quid.
And I can send you an aluminium body replacement for the 80lb if you want.
It's up to you, but I thought as you bought a plastic model you'd want a plastic replacement, hence I offered the 50lb model. (As obviously I am not sending any more 80lb plastic units, these are going back.)
But the only difference between the 50lb and 80lb model is the limb and string.
Email me to let me know if you want the 80lb aluminium model body instead. ____________________ Bringing low prices to UK Crossbows. |
